The term 'Ethanisms' was just coined by my friend Christi. I liked it, so that's my first blog. Here are some of the random Ethanisms you may here when you spend a day with us:
"Little girls are for me to chase!" That's a recent one. If we go on a playdate and you bring your little girl, watch out. He will most likely develop a crush and chase her, even if she is older than he is. I'm going to have to hose him down when he goes through puberty.
He made up a jump recently that he calls the flippy flop. He basically jumps way up and spins around and lands on his butt. It's a lot of fun for grown ups to do, too.
He tells us daily that we make his heart super happy. Ok, so he didn't make that up, he got it from Kai Lan, but it's the thought that counts.
"Mommy's a coffee head!" This one came up because every morning, he wants na-na. Yes, I'm still nursing my 2 year old. Don't judge me! Anyway, I told him he is a na-na head and he told me I'm a coffee head. Tit for tat, I guess. BTW...we're done with na-na when he turns 3. He's being prepared.
"Stop picking my butt!" Okay, this requires some back story. We tell him to stop picking his butt when we see him do it, so to be funny, he acts like he's going to pick at it while telling himself to stop.
He just informed us that he has five butts. You'd think we would have noticed that by now. Why is it always about the butt with boys big and small?
"No, I amen't!" I called him a gigglebox one night, and that was his response. Then, he conceded to being a gigglebox and said that his daddy and I are aments. So I guess amen't is a verb as well as a noun. Just a minute ago, I was telling Wesley that I had forgotten to add this one, and Ethan heard me and said, "Oh! You almost forgot your amen't?" It's a multi-purpose word in Ethan lingo.
When he takes his pull-up or underwear off, he proudly announces, "I'm a silly naked boy!!!" Same holds true for when he gets out of the bath.
This will have to be continued when I think of more...I hope this made you smile in the meantime. :)
Cute:)
ReplyDeleteHaha! How did I 'follow' myself?
ReplyDeleteLol I'm sure you will!
ReplyDeleteHa! I think I am following myself, too, and I don't know how to "unfollow". Lol! Not judging your nursing decision at all, but I'm curious - how often does he still nurse? Had to wean S at about 7 months because my milk dried up (D was responsible for that one). D recently weaned (like a week or so ago) herself and I was a little sad, but a little happy to have my body back. She was only nursing 1-2 times a day since about Christmas, so that's why I ask you about Ethan.
ReplyDeleteNo problem on the question, Carrie! I figured people would be curious. I just don't talk about it much because I never know how people will react. He's really only nursing for comfort. Once in the morning and once before brushing teeth and going to bed is typical. Since he turned 2, I've eliminated the in between sessions (for lack of a better word haha) by planning activities and talking a lot about things big boys do. I think it's just a stress reliever at this point. He's prepared to stop when he turns 3 and I like that he is part of the transition and excited about being a big boy. :) I feel like I'm doing this with him and not to him...ya know what I mean? Hope this makes some sense. Am I just weird? lol probably but I can't wait for my body to be mine again; I'm more than ready. I actually was curious about your nursing since you had your kids so close together. :)
ReplyDeleteNursing for 36 months is common in my family... if they make it past the first year that is. Not to question your French but shouldn't this blog be titled Chez les Rauch
ReplyDeleteI thought it was just chez and then the name to indicate "the house of". My French is far from perfect, am I wrong?
ReplyDeleteHmm, it's a preposition with multiple meanings I was reading it as with the Rauches, but I think it works as house of.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the greatest thing EVER! I sure. Wish I had been able ti chronicle your life miss erin! Back when you were born cell phones were too big to keep in the car n had to be kept in the trunk!! Lol!! This is an awesome way to keep these memories alive forever!! Ethan is such a special guy!
